Has anyone ever been happy with cell phone providers?

I feel like I have had a lot of experience with cell phone companies and the only time in my life I wasn’t constantly worried about something was when my last job paid for my phone and service. I’ve had Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Cingular and now AT&T. You may ask why so many different providers? Well I was constantly changing phones for awhile and then always trying to get the best plan for my usage.

I’ve found over the years that I have never truly been happy when paying for my own cell phone plan. There are always some kind of hidden charges somewhere and it seems like costs are always getting prorated for no reason. Getting a credit for something you thought you were paying for in your plan is about as fun as doing a slip-and-slide on 400 grit sandpaper. And now, you have to sign 2-year agreements for anything. What the hell is that about? When did this crap happen? Will it be 30-year agreements soon?

I am sure you know someone or are someone who has had problems upgrading to the new 3G iPhone or purchasing an iPhone a year ago. The problem is obviously not Apple (except for the keyboard no one likes), but AT&T’s complete lack of customer service at times. Eventually I imagine Apple will sign deals with the other providers and at least attempt to let customers chose.

On a side note, I did receive a credit from AT&T the other day.. It shouldn’t have even had to happen if their online service worked smoothly. Why offer an online service that says “this operation cannot be completed, please call AT&T customer service”??

END RANT.
